About Allister is Looking for his forever home
This is little Allister. Allister had a terribly hard start to life. A kitten to a stray mumma cat who was living in someones house in squalid conditions. Allister and his siblings were lucky to be rescued. They were fleas ridden, malnourished and underweight. At Allister's vet check it was discovered that something wasn't quite right with Allisters chest. A chest xray was called for. As the days went by it became more and more evident that Allister was struggling ... he couldn't keep up with his litter mates. Allister was found to have a deformity called pectus excavatum. His heart and lung were being squashed by his malformed rib cage.
With the assistance of supporters and a couple of other fundraising initiatives, funds were raised to complete a procedure to expand Allisters rib cage. An amazing specialist at Sash Vet Hospital corrected the rib cage with a process much like correcting teeth with braces. His overall treatment and recovery took 2 months.
Little Allister has been recovered nicely and is looking for a home. He will physically always be a little different in terms of the shape of his chest.
Allister is a super playful little man (he must now run on Energiser batteries) who is is highly dog and cat friendly but to the point he will want to interact and play with them. He can be a cheeky little boy, who just like any toddler needs to be taught the rules of the household. Allister would do best with an experienced cat owner who can give him the love time and cuddles he deserves. Pls contact us if you would like to know more.
