About Maggie
Maggie is a part of our Retiree Program and is looking for a special family to call her very own whilst being supported financially by the rescue.
Hi my name is Maggie and I'm a Permanent Resident at Tails of the Forgotten Inc. I am hoping to live out my Retirement years in a loving long term foster home. I am 11 years old and have been told I still have the mentality of a pup though. I want to still run and play but I need to be restricted now due to my cracked hips and spine. My tail still wags, I can still give kisses and I still love the wall!
I'm a very sweet and loyal dog who needs someone who can spend a lot of time with me treating me like the princess that I am. I'm happy to wait quietly until you get home.
I would be best suited as an only dog as sometimes I get involved with misunderstandings.
Medical notes
All medicated expenses covered by the rescue
- severe arthritis
- neurological condition - slight head tilt. circles.
Adoption details
Our Retiree Program allows dogs, due to terminal health or severe behavioural issues, stay as permanent members of the Tails of the Forgotten family who otherwise are deemed not rehomeable. These dogs are placed in long term foster homes and remain under the care of the rescue. All their expenses are covered by Tails of the Forgotten, for life.
They will live out their remaining days on earth in loving homes, receiving the best treatment and care available until it's their time to cross the Rainbow Bridge.
Palliative Care Plans are drawn up by our vets for our dogs who are terminally ill. We don't believe we have the rights as humans to cut a life short if they are not physically suffering.
These dogs often receive daily medication and regular vet visits and have ongoing costs associated with their wellbeing. We rely on the public's generous donations and sponsorship to support these Tails of the Forgotten permanent residents.
