About Abby *On Trial in Her New Home*
*ABBY IS CURRENTLY TRIALING HER NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* ‘Very well-trained with lovely manners’ is how we’d describe amazing Abby! She’s looking for a fun-loving forever home who will continue to assist this clever young girl to reach her full potential; will it be with you?
Adorable Abby can be a little shy when you first meet her though soon warms up to be a friendly, affectionate girl who loves cuddles and attention – her whole body wriggles when she’s happy and she has a lovely smile! She was adopted from our local pound by an elderly couple as what was thought to be a little 8 week old ‘Jack Russell Terrier x puppy’ but then Abby grew and grew and now weighs 27.5kgs turning out to be not the tiny Terrier they were after at all! So they’ve decided she needs a more suitable home which is what we’ve promised to find.
You can tell Abby has been well-looked after and loved; her owner walks her most days – Abby loves her walks and is used to wearing a Gentle Leader. They have put time into her training so she knows “sit”, “drop” as well as shaking paws for treats and, she rarely jumps up on you unless asked or if you’ve stirred her up by running around playing silly games with her though she responds well to a firm “down”. Abby really likes toys and will play fetch or have a good game of tug-o-war with you. She hasn’t spent much time with other dogs though wants to play with them when she meets them on her walks.

We’re not sure of the breeds that make up Abby though we reckon there’s some Red Heeler in there and perhaps some Bull Arab or similar. She’s not a “yapper” though will give a warning bark when there’s a reason to making her a good watchdog. She absolutely adores water and will happily splash around in a doggie pool or have some fun under the sprinkler on a hot day – she really is a delightful dog! She loves food and takes treats gently.
Abby is mostly an outside dog who sleeps in her kennel at night though she does enjoy being allowed inside on occasion and usually sits quietly in her bed. We wouldn’t recommend her to a home with a toddler as she’d accidentally knock them over in her playful exuberance or with that waggy tail of hers though primary school age children or older, who are experienced with dogs, would be fine.
Loveable Abby would be best suited to an indoor / outdoor lifestyle with either a friendly dog for company or on her own though only if she won’t be left alone constantly for long periods of time as she could get bored and up to mischief. Secure fencing and a good sized yard, daily walks, bones to chew on and toys to play with will make Abby very happy indeed!

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
