Coco ~ Friendly Kelpie X Staffy (On Trial 13/2/16)

Introducing delightful and cheeky Coco - a little 2 year old Kelpie X Staffy girl who has a sparkling personality and is brimming with love. How does one 12kg little lady manage to pack so much affection into such a small package? Coco loves all people big and small, young and old (and everyone in between!) - she tries soooo hard to please you every minute of every day. She thrives on the company of her best friend - you!

Coco had a rough start in life - she was left tied up in a yard when her owners moved out. This has surprisingly not damaged her bubbly spirit as she adores everyone! Coco is dog friendly, however she's more of a people dog, and is happiest just hanging out with her humans.

Coco loves playing ball or frisbee and loves nothing more than to play fetch or sit at your feet getting a pat and watching the world go by. Coco is an awesome fielder in a cricket game and she always brings the ball back. She is very athletic and although only small she can easily keep up with bigger dogs - if you love walking daily or running she will eagerly join you. She has only recently been introduced to lead walking - she can still jump and pull in excitement but that's to be expected due to her earlier lack of training and socialisation. With daily walks and consistent training that will ease over time.

Do you live near a park or even better a dog-park? Coco would be in heaven as she already has great recall with her foster family and she is dog social too so she'd love a good run around. She is in foster care with 3 other dogs - their companionship confused her a little at the start but she has learnt to socialise with them and has settled in well with them.

Coco is in care with two children aged 6 and 8 years and she is great with them. She is very sweet but being young and bouncy she could knock over babies or toddlers so we'd suggest she be matched with bigger kids or kids who are confident with friendly, energetic dogs.

Coco's perfect furever home is one where she can be an inside / outside dog - with fun play time in the yard during nice weather, and indoor time with her family when they are home as she's such a companion dog. Like most young, social dogs she prefers to be wherever you are! She would suit a stay-at-home mum or a person who works from home so she can come in and out and supervise your work. She would also adapt to someone who can take her to work. She wouldn't like being in the yard alone all day if you are a full time worker as she has already had that with her old life and this little lady has learnt that human company is her favourite thing !

Coco is currently on acreage with 4 foot farm fencing and she will jump it in a heartbeat to be with her foster mum, so a farm life is not the best for her despite being a working breed mix. She would prefer an inner city single, couple or family with good fencing and a fun, active lifestyle. She is very curious about cats and pocket pets like chickens and rabbits and given a chance she will chase these fluffy toys as she thinks it's a great game (although they don't agree!)

Coco will love you more than life itself and with a dedicated family who will continue her socialisation and training she will continue to develop into a content and well rounded adult.
