About Smiley Miley (going on trial)
Miley is the most beautiful girl. She is a friendly, happy playful girl who loves her people. She will need training as she has had none and is beginning to jump up now that she is feeling better. She does listen when she has settled and will sit and stay. Miley loves her toys especially if they squeak and she will run around the yard with her toy in her mouth throwing it in the air and trying to catch it again. Miley will need a family willing to have her indoors and out where she can be part of family life. Older children would be better suited as she is jumping up a bit so until she receives some training to correct some of her puppy behaviours she may scare little children. She loves to run so a large yard would be very beneficial.
If you are interested in adopting Miley you should be prepared for possible expenses down the track, such as arthritis injections. Pet insurance may not cover this as it may be classed as a pre existing condition so this should be a consideration when adopting.
Miley is a truly beautiful soul who deserves the best life she can have.
Medical notes
Miley although only a puppy has had a very tough life. Miley was surrendered to us after being offered free on a couple of buy and sell sites. We contacted the owner and were told that when she was a few months old she had been run over by a tractor and didn't receive any veterinary care. As a result when she came to us she went straight to the vet to see what her options were. Miley has very bandy front legs and her hips stick out as well. After the specialist checked her over he found her legs, were actually not as bad as they looked. There didn't seem to be any joint issues and she has full mobility in all her joints. He believes her back legs will not look as bad once she gains some weight as she is very thin. Her front legs he believes are the result of her having breathing complications from her tractor accident. Because she wasn't able to fully expand her lungs she would stand with her legs apart to allow her to get a fuller breath. This has resulted in them staying like that. She may have arthritis issues with her legs down the track. Miley underwent a major surgery within days of coming into our care. She was taken to a specialist surgery for this procedure as it was a very large operation and she needed 24 hour around the clock afterwards. The surgery is called a Diaphragmatic Hernia op and what that basically means is that her Diaphragm was split open and as a result all of her organs were in her chest cavity. Some of these had adhered to the chest wall which made the op even more difficult. The organs were all put back into place, but her spleen was removed to make a little more room. Her Diaphragm wasn't large enough to close so Miley also had a skin graft to make it larger so it could be closed keeping her organs from going back into her chest.
Miley has recovered beautifully and is becoming more puppy like as she now has the lung capacity to run and play like a pup.
