About Jet - Keeper of the cats!
Jet is a gorgeous boy who just loves everybody and everything.
He is most happy just hanging with his people. He doesn't like to miss out on anything that's happening so makes sure he's front and center of the action.
He is a good boy who listens to instruction and does what he's told with a smile on his face, as he wants nothing more than to please you!
He has a large understanding of human words such as "Sit, Drop, Bed, Get in the car, Back, Wait, Ah Arr, Enough, Walk" , And of course "Good Boy" which is his favorite.
Like most staffy's Jet can be anxious and over excited about things, such as fear of being left behind, or not being close enough to you for a pat (in his opinion the best position was generally on your lap pushed hard up against your chin!) but since being in foster care he has been crate trained and taught that the best position if you want a pat is to quietly sit at his foster family's feet. This has helped him manage his anxiety and taught him boundaries and personal space.
(Jet is scared of thunder so the only time he is allowed on the couch on his foster family's knee is when he thinks the thunder is going to get him)
JET IS AN INSIDE DOG. He will not cope if expected to be left outside all day. He will do it if he has too with company and not try and escape but spends a lot of time sitting at the door knocking to come back in. He can be trusted inside not to toilet, and chew things he knows are not his for long periods as he does this regularly while his foster mum is at work sometimes for 8+ hours a day.
JET LOVES CATS - He currently lives with two cats and has never tried to hurt them in fact he follows them everywhere and I mean everywhere just to be close and watch over them. I have confident cats that don't mind this BUT if you own a cat that is scared of dogs then I suggest you do not adopt Jet as he will chase them and it will drive you nuts!
Overall if you understand the needs of a staffy have the time for them and can involve them in everything you do and want a good loyal companion. Then come and meet Jet.
Jet is currently in Warranwood.

Medical notes
Jet came into care with us with a diagnosis a luxating patellas as he wasn't walking on his back left leg. He has been in care for several months while his left knee has been treated. It was discovered he actually had a old crucial ligament injury and now has arthritis in that knee. He has now had surgeries to correct this and ensure he is pain free and comfortable. He will always run on three legs but now walks on all four. He will require ongoing joint care such as a diet high in omega 3 and a supplement such as 'joint guard for dogs' to protect his knee in the future from the arthritis is highly recommended and inexpensive.
He has a GRADE 2 luxating patella in his right knee that is unlikely to require treatment in the future.
***If you'd like to know more about Jets medical history please make contact via the application process and we'd be happy to put you in contact with our treating vet to discuss.***
