About Blaze
What can I say about Blaze... If you are looking for a super smart, eager to please and loyal best friend, Blaze might just be the one for you.
Blaze was very quick to understand what is expected of him once on the leash. He is quite happy just to follow along with all the other dogs.
He currently lives with a large family with people of all ages, from newborn to elderly, and gets along well with all. He also has not had any problems with the other dogs currently in his foster home and just loves to play.
Blaze will require ongoing socialisation and obedience training to ensure he continues on the path to becoming a well rounded and balanced dog. He has an extremely strong herding instinct and has misguided this instinct towards dogs as they play and cars along the fence line.
I have no doubt that he would benefit immensely from a rural setting where he can practice his sheep work, or go to a weekend herding class, with these problems diminishing once he understands what it is that he is supposed to herd.
Blaze has shown no aggression towards cats but will chase so he will be looking for a home with no cats. He also seems to show an interest in chickens, but is yet to be assessed with them.
Blaze will be looking for an extremely active and experienced owner who knows about his breed and their needs. He will require an owner who understands the importance of being ‘boss’ as without guidance and a strong leader Blaze has been known to become quite fearful and anxious around new things.
He will need at least one other dog, who can match his energy levels, in his new home to provide him with company and to help him burn off some energy when left alone.
A home in a rural setting/with acreage is a must for this enthusiastic and energetic pup. Again, he has shown an extremely promising ability in sheep herding and practicing this will be strongly encouraged to be continued in his new home.
Blaze is such a beautiful and happy boy. It has been an absolute pleasure sharing my home with him and it is going to be a tough goodbye when that day comes. His loyalty is simply astonishing.
If you are interested in meeting this amazing boy, we would love to hear from you!
Blaze is currently located in Ballarat.
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
