About Raffy
Raffy is a handsome boy and he has so much love to give to his forever family when he finds them. He is full of energy and loves to go for walks, enjoys swimming and playing with toys, he is always up for anything.
He is currently attending obedience classes and has passed the first level with flying colours. He has now started the second level and is doing exceptionally well.
Raffy can be a little bossy so is better suited to an experienced dog home, preferably someone who wants to continue with obedience training which is a vital part of Raffy's being able to gain better social skills with both people and other dog friends.
Due to Raffy's bossy nature he is not suitable for children, he tends to push boundaries, hence him being only suitable for an experienced dog person that will not allow him to get away with his mischief.
In a nutshell Raffy is the life of the party when comfortable with his surroundings. He's go, go, go. Full of spunk, adventure and great fun to be around. He still has a lot of learning to do, as he is always trying to see how far he can go like a cheeky little kid.
He would be a great companion for an active someone with the time, energy and patience that he so deserves. In return you will be showered with love and be blessed to watch him grow into the dog he wants to be and should be.
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Adoption details
The first step to adopting a dog from us is to fill out an expression of interest form.
We encourage you to provide as much detail as possible about your family and your home as this helps us make sure we match you with the most suitable dog.
This form can be found at the following address: http://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/Kczrs885x4lq3N9u4mQhca
Please note: we do not organise any meet and greet without a completed expression of interest form.
Our adoption process involves:
1) Completing online application form
2) Arranging a meet and greet with the dogs foster carer, after which we ask you to take 24 hours to make a decision about whether you want to adopt this dog
3) A brief home visit and yard check from one of our volunteers
4) Adoption trial spanning four weeks.
We ask that you pay the dogs adoption fee at the beginning of the adoption trial, however this will be refunded if for any reason the dog is not working out in your home within the four week period. We offer a four week adoption trial to make sure that you have plenty of time for your new dog to settle into your home and so we can offer you full support during this period and beyond.
We offer a free health check with our vets at Indooroopilly, Browns Plains, Jindalee or Chermside vet clinic after you’ve adopted your dog and every dog in our care is up to date with all vet work.
We have many dogs that are in foster care and are not yet ready to be listed for a variety of reasons. If you have a good idea of what you are looking for in your new dog please email us at chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com and let us help you match a dog to your needs.
