Campari ~ Kelpie ~ Puppy on trial 20/01/16

Introducing Campari! Our gorgeous, 11 week old, female, Kelpie.

Like many of our dogs in care, this pooch had an unfair start to life. her mother (who is also in care and being rehabilitated) was one of many dogs on a property that had no shade or shelter, and if these dogs were ‘lucky’ enough, someone would stop by every second or third day and fling food on the ground for them. It was every dog for themselves, and judging by the mothers weight she would more than often miss out. This did not stop her from producing 5 beautiful puppies with pudgy little bellies, and she’s done an amazing job of keeping them as healthy and happy as she could. When mum and her litter came into care they were riddled with fleas and ticks, but thanks to their fast acting foster carer their health was never in jeopardy.

Campari is in care with a foster family which includes a 9 month old baby and 2 cats, and there has been nothing but pleasant exposure in these areas. She enjoys spending her days lazing around the yard, playing with her brother (Zenday), sister (Fleur) and step brother (an 18 week old Border Collie). They all run around, chewing on toys and treats, and taking a dip in the clam shell pool on hot days. Campari is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home. She has grown accustomed to sleeping outside with her siblings on warm nights, but will need some time sleeping inside at her new home to adjust to life without her siblings.

Due to the nature of Kelpie’s, they have high energy and will require regular walking and housing with 6ft colourbond fencing with plenty of room to run around. Please note applications with residences that have rural fencing will not be considered.

Campari is not yet trained, and we always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.

As Campari is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens as she'll need to be returned to one of our vets for desexing when she's 5 months old.
