Polly

Here is what Polly's foster has to say: 'Polly is quite literally perfect. I'm not even kidding she is remarkable and she deserves to have adoption applications flooding in. She is perfect to wash, to poke around her eyes and mouth, to crate, to play with, to walk, introducing to small animals is fine etc gave her a bone today and she didn't quite know what to do with it. My tests involve holding it while they chew, asking them to give it up to me, allowing me to move it and allowing me to share it (yes, really, they have to think I'm eating it) and she was excellent. She was very protective of it around the other dogs but also respectful of their space and their bones so didn't even look like thinking about stealing theirs. What else... Happy to laze on the couch in the lounge while we relax, we have established that she can share the end of the bed when we're napping but is crated for sleeping, meals and when we're not home. I have only heard her bark once, very quiet young thing.'

She is currently in foster with two other dogs, and since joining Off The Chain has met several others without issue. She is learning about poultry, and we think she will be easy to train around cats too! She's very gentle with human children also.

How did she get here? Her owner dumped her in an acquaintance's yard and left town. So luckily they called us, and we took her in. We were devastated at her condition. She came into rescue with blistered feet, ticks all over her, muck in her ears and eyes, and vomiting cattle grain. After a few vet trips she was all fixed up and is now set to live a healthy, happy life! Lucky for her she got away without any long term injuries or illness and is considered a very healthy dog.
