About Butch ~ Border Collie X On Trial 16/01/16
My name is Butch AKA Prince Charming - I am a handsome 6 month old Border Collie/possibly Bulldog mix and I will be the best thing in your life guaranteed. I’m hoping to find a loving forever family with kids or an active couple or even a single person who loves to go for walks/runs
My foster parents tell me I’m a very good boy and super charismatic! I know all my basic commands, like “sit”, “drop”, “stay” and I’m currently learning a few more cool tricks– I’ll do almost anything for a treat, and I’m a very fast learner. I’m very well behaved, obedient and an awesome walker/runner on the lead, whatever your pace I’ll keep up with you
I’m great with kids however, I can sometimes get overexcited and tend to forget they are smaller than me so can knock them – I don’t mean it though. Although I’m only young, I don’t mouth and I have been told I’m very gentle. I have been in foster care with a 2yo and 8yo humans and loved playing ball games and tug of war with the 8yo and I’m very good at sharing toys and space with them. I’ve also lived with cats previously, but it has been a little while so I may need re-introductions
Toys…...I LOVE EM! Squeaky toys, chew toys, ball toys, tug-o-war toys and of course sticks, love, love, love! My favorite toy at the moment is this thing my foster mum and dad call a ‘broom’ they use it on the floor - I just love the bristles they feel nice on my face!
I am currently living with a loving family who has two other dogs that are 12 months old and they are my besties. Wynnie, Duke and I have a lot of fun together and play for hours - we just love exploring in the garden, going to the park, walking together and then we sleep for the rest of the day
I’m fully toilet trained and have exceptional house and table manners - you can take food away from me and it doesn’t bother me a bit. When asked, I’ll sit patiently for my food and never make mess. I spend most of the day outside playing, then I come inside with the family in the evening and settle quickly for snuggles. I’m happy to sleep just about anywhere - outside in a kennel, in the laundry, garage or even beside your bed if you’ll let me. I’ve been told I snore now and again which just makes me cuter!
If you want an active dog that is well trained, obedient and well mannered then look no further than yours truly. I will steal your heart, be the envy of your family and friends and I’ll play with you until your tired and then play some more. I’m the kind of dog you can be proud of and I’ll be best your best mate for life!
Play and snuggle soon, Love from Handsome Butch

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
