About Abbie ~ large breed puppy (On Trial 23/1/16)
Hi, I’m Abbie, my foster mum calls me "Adorable Abbie", she says I’ve got just the sweetest nature. I’m a 5 month old, large mixed breed puppy (possibly Bull Arab and Great Dane). I was lucky enough to be rescued from the pound. I'm currently living with other dogs and we get along well.
My foster mum is trying to feed me up as I was very skinny when I left the pound. Now I weigh around 20kg, my paws are huge and my foster mum says I’ll grow into my legs. I’m very smart and will wait patiently for my meals, give a paw, then the other paw and then wait for the command to eat.
I love frolicking in the grass although I have a tendency to eat plants even though my foster mum says “no”. I love my walks although I’m not that keen on this “lead” thing that they use. I’m fine to be let off my lead when I’m with my big brother because he’s just awesome and I’ll follow him wherever he goes.
My foster mum says I’d benefit from puppy classes and might enjoy the dog sport "agility" when I’m older. I love my snuggle time with the humans. I especially love small humans although foster mum keeps saying “don’t jump" (not sure what that means either).
I’m an inside dog but spend time outside with my foster siblings. I love walks although not too long ones as I’m still a puppy, oh, and food, I love food! I’m not big on chewing on things but when I do try it occasionally, as soon as foster mum tells me “no” I stop.
I would like to have a home of my own, with my own humans and maybe a doggy friend to play with. Somewhere I can go for interesting walks and get lots of treats.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
