Twix ~ Kelpie X Corgi (trial 28/12/15)

Introducing Twix, a handsome 7 month old Kelpie crossed with some sort of Corgi from what we can gather. There may be other breeds in his bloodline however we just can never be sure.

Lovely Twix is a gentle and affectionate soul. Due to his sweet nature he can be quite shy at the start but once he knows you he comes out of his shell. He loves to be with people and can be a very social fellow once he feels comfortable with you. He really enjoys lying at your feet and prefers to nap with someone close by so is best in a home where he has company for a good portion of the day. He also absolutely loves a belly rub and could lay back and take this for hours so if you are looking for a companion he is certainly your man.

Another luxury Twix is fond of is bath time. He will stand and be scrubbed down for ages if you let him. He does enjoy the company of other friendly dogs once he meets a dog and warms to them. He has been learning to play with his foster sister and is doing very well. He is best with another friendly non-dominant dog, especially a confident dog to continue teaching him how to play.

He is also fabulous with all children and is not reactive to their antics so he would make an exceptional family dog. Getting love, cuddles and pats from all of the family would be his ideal world, especially if combined with a fur friend to play with.

While Twix is learning to enjoy walks he is unlikely to ever be a world renowned marathon runner. If you can provide him with casual walks and strolls each day he will be more than happy with that.
He has undertaken basic training and is continuing to learn every day. He is responsive to treats to this certainly makes training a breeze and with consistency and patience he could turn out to be quite the little show-man. He is also completely house-trained !!

Overall Twix is a lovely placid, calm and sweet boy who is looking for a worthy family to call his own. The adoption fee for Twix is $400. He is vaccinated, desexed, worm and flea treated and comes with lifetime registration.
