About Charlie ~ Pointer x on trial 23/01/16
Hi I'm Charlie, a male, 4 year old Pointer X. I'm a big sook who loves affection! I'm such a pleasure to have around and a easy boy to look after. I am a inside/outside boy. I am very happy to sleep and stay outside while my foster mummy is at work. I'm allowed inside for visits and family time. I have never had a accident inside but my foster mum prompts outside toilet time. I have never been left inside alone, I enjoy my freedom outside. Sometimes my foster mummy lets me sleep on her bed as a special treat. I just love cuddles and being around people.
I'm a gentle boy who is great with kids. Due to my size I'm best suited to older children or children used to large dogs. I currently live with a 4 year old and I adore him, we are great budddies, (he sometimes lets me have sleep-overs on his bed).
I enjoy the doggie beach and am ok with other dogs. I am getting better with car rides as I'm getting used to it now, I was scared at first. I am suited to a family with no cats or pocket pets because I show too much interest in them.
I have learnt to "sit", and am learning "stay" and "shake". I learn quickly and further training would be valuable to me. I drop toys on command and fetch, however I'm not too interested in fetch. I rather lay down and chew my toys and run around the yard entertaining myself, or even more fun, just sitting with you and enjoying your company.
I love my walks. I know it's walk time when I see my lead. I am strong and getting better at not pulling on the lead. I am ok with strangers, I think of them as new friends to pat me! I also am a lounge lizard who will snuggle with you or lay on the floor. My foster mummy thinks I'm the best cuddle buddy!
My coat sheds and needs daily brushing. This is one of my favourite times of day! I eat well and treats are a great form of training me. I don't bark or make much noise. I'm a very quiet boy. In fact the time I did bark my foster mum came running outside as she thought something was wrong and yes there was a lizard in the yard. I had to warn her!
If you have lots of love to give and endless cuddles I'm the boy for you! I am a shadow to my foster mummy when she is home and can never get enough affection. I am just happy to be loved and I will love you back 1000 times more! If you are interested in knowing more please contact my foster carer. I hope to meet you soon!

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
