Macky

Macky is a gorgeous little man, who just loves being around people. He shadows us around the home but is just as happy to sleep all day on the couch or on his bed. He is initially a little timid upon meeting new people but this usually disappears as soon as he gets pats. Macky loves people of all sizes (great with kids, babies, adults, everyone!) & will try to lick your face/give you kisses as soon as he can! He loves to cuddle up on our laps whether it's in the kitchen chatting or on the couch watching a movie.
We have taught him to walk on lead & now he loves going on walks (he previously would only walk from bush to bush peeing on everything - boys!). He does pull a little but he only weighs 5kgs so even small children could handle him. We haven't tested him off lead, as he seems to get a little distracted & this may result in poor recall. He is dog friendly, playing nicely with dogs as large as German Shepherds & as small as Maltese X, but knows to be gentle with an elderly beagle.
Macky has come a long way in 2 weeks. He is learning to eat dry food, but can be a little picky. We have taught him to wait before exiting/entering doors & can now sit for food rewards. He is a bubbly little man who often walks & stands easily on his back legs for food (without being asked). He is not food aggressive, but can be a little rough taking food from our hands when our other dog is around (competition I guess!).
Macky is toliet trained at our house, but in new homes we have watched him closely so that he doesn't mark, being a boy. He can't seem to figure out our doggie door, so will sit by the door when he needs to go out. Macky sleeps very well overnight on his bed in our room or the laundry & won't get up in the morning, until we do (often quite late on weekends with sleep ins).
He has let me trim him, wash him, cut his nails & brush him, all without any compliant. He will be the best friend for someone who is home a lot to shadow around or will patiently wait for the busier owner to get home and shower them in love for the briefer period. He has not been destructive at all. Macky really is the cutest, most adorable little man.
