Apache ~ Cattle X Puppy ~ On Trial 31/12/15

Apache is a 7 month old male Red Cattle Dog who's a cuddly ball of fun. This little fella is not only incredibly handsome he is also very smart, playful, independent and so loyal. He would make a great addition to a busy, active couple or family and a wonderful companion for another playful dog. He likes to lay like a frog with his belly on the cool floor which is so cute, he looks at you with his big brown eyes and tilts his head which will have you hooked at hello!

Apache loves other dogs and wants to play all the time. His favourite games when playing with his foster sister are tug-of-war and bitey-face. These games can get quite boisterous as they love it, but Apache is very gentle with his mouth and is respectful of the limits set by his doggy playmates.

Apache sleeps on his own at night in a sunroom/laundry area with access to the outside yard and would be fine to be left at home during the day as long as he had another friendly dog to keep him company and plenty of time with his humans when at home. He likes to follow his foster mum everywhere when she is home. Lying at her feet and sometimes even on her feet. He just wants to be as close to his humans as possible.

Apache currently lives with two cats and although he backs off as soon as they hiss at him, he will occasionally chase them which is typical of puppies. With consistent training he will get more used to living with cats and learn that they don’t like him as much as he likes them!

Apache has a beautiful soft, thick coat and will require regular brushing. He looks like a fox with his gorgeous colourings and his bushy foxy tail!

Apache has only just started going on daily walks so he still gets nervous when noisy traffic goes past or strangers are approaching on the street. Being only a young boy it won't take long to build up his confidence and get used to the noise and traffic around him. A pache doesn’t pull on the lead and loves to take his time sniffing everything along the way.

Being an energetic and smart breed Apache would take well to being trained as your jogging partner of you would like a running companion. He also has lovely table manners and sits and eagerly waits for his dinner. Apache would suit 5 or 6 foot fencing if you live in the city or suburbia. He would also suit a good dog-mesh fencing on acreage.
