About Chanel ~ Mastiff X ~ Puppy (trial 13/12/15)
Chanel is a sweet, 12 week old girl who we believe to be a Mastiff X puppy, however this is uncertain. Chanel and her 5 siblings came into the care of DRN from Mudgee Pound as a dumped litter on 18/11/2015. Having completed her first 2 vaccinations she is now on the lookout for her forever home.
She is the quieter of the pups and will often wander off from the others and amuse herself. We feel she would be well suited to someone who is mostly home, or with children, and not necessarily have another dog for her for company.
She is quite inquisitive, and if you are doing something she will come bounding up to see what you’re up to and if you need her help - be it gardening, hanging out the washing or simply sitting down with a cuppa.
She will come when she is called (if she is not too busy having fun at the time) and she can sit (especially for her dinner). We have been working on walking on a lead, but she is not very impressed with this, and gives you a look of ‘how can I can play around with this thing attached to my neck?’. I’m sure it will not be long and she will learn to accept it. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
Chanel is in foster care in Charlestown (20 minutes south west of Newcastle) with her sisters – Shalimar, Coco, and Miss Dior.
If you would like to find out more about her, or how you can go about adopting her, you can contact her carer Anne her on 0412 837 867 or by email anne_armitage@bigpond.com
As Chanel is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to one of our vets for desexing when she's 4 or 5 months old.
Chanel’s adoption fee is only $500 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and microchipping. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
