About Josh
Josh is your typical big goofy guy always looking for a fun time with plenty of energy to spare.
He is a great natured dog that can benefit from further training as his attention span is not too terrific but he is certainly getting there
Josh was very good to vet and great to tablet. He is currently on two meals of puppy food a day
Josh can be handled whilst eating or playing & likes to tiptoe in the shell pool.
Josh needs a family with older children as he can still jump on you when excited.
A family who has had bull/ridge back breed experience is preferable and a fur sister who is desexed is desirable as he loves to play and have someone to keep him occupied
Its important that you have secure fencing and are either home part of the time or full time. You must be committed to further his training as well
Feeding these dogs is very important. Josh came in skin and bone and is only now just retaining his weight. Its better for giant breeds to stay on a good quality dry food till they finish growing and two meals a day for him of this is best. His appetite may slow in the hot weather so a meal first thing in the morning then before you go to bed will help him
These dogs do not do exclusion well. They must be made to feel part of the family having family time inside and allowed to sleep inside where possible. They are hugely sensitive and can be heartbroken quiet easily.
If you feel your ready to welcome Josh into your home please let us know so that we can send you an application. We will also have to do a meet and greet with your other dog at the shelter in order to make sure that they all get along
Josh will leave the shelter fully vetted he will have stitches in his back feet area as we will be taking his dewclaws off
He will also come with a showbag full of goodies
Cheers
XO
