About The Kaiser
The Kaiser is a big lion-like stately boy who came into care after we participated in a cat trapping project in south Western Sydney in the car park of a well known fast food joint. Kaiser had clearly been an owned pet at some stage, but had been abandoned and was in a terrible state, living in the shadows of night and scavenging at the location with a few other young felines. Luckily he was trapped and whisked off to the vet for vet work, assessment and testing.
Once in care, it became even clearer that Kaiser was a gentle, intelligent and affectionate boy who loves human company and being part of a family. He enjoys being groomed and his coat, which we had to have fully shaved at the vet is now growing back in beautiful condition. It s the most amazing cream/ champagne/ pale apricot colour ! The Kaiser is a fairly low energy boy, so enjoys sitting with his foster carer, lots of naps and is a dab hand now with cat games on the IPAD .
Kaiser tested FIV+ which isn't surprising for a male cat left to roam the streets undesexed. FIV + status is not a death sentence by a far stretch and just requires more careful than usual rehoming on our part, and awareness on the part of adopters. Kaiser also needs to be on a special, high quality diet which is unrelated to his FIV status and more a product of having to scavenge unhealthy food on streets which has resulted in a touch of IBS ( irritable bowel syndrome). This condition, as with people can be uncomfortable if a good diet isn't adhered to. The vet also diagnosed a low Grade 2 ( we know of cats at a grade 4-5 living healthy productive life spans) heart murmur which is neither here nor there at this point- awareness being the key. Due to his history, we also had blood tests done , and no abnormalities were detected otherwise in the renal or thyroid system. Nor any indication of diabetes.
Due to his unsettled past, we have decided Kaiser is best off as an ONLY cat in a fairly neutral household. He is strictly indoors only.
Medical notes
FIV + , special dietary needs/ sensitivity, Grade 1-2 heart murmur
Adoption details
Trial periods are given to ensure the cat/kitten is the Purrfect Match for your situation and refund is available within the agreed trial period that is geared to suit the individual cat.
If a cat is being adopted sight unseen, as in distance adoptions, we do require a home check to ensure our cats safety.
After indicating your interest in a cat or kitten you wish to adopt we put you in contact with his or her foster carer. You can then organize a meet and greet.
If you decide to go ahead with the adoption you are required to complete the adoption form and transfer of microchip paperwork. The foster carer will have these documents for you to complete or they can be sent to you via email. Payment can be made via direct deposit or cash to the carer.
We have transport opportunities available from time to time.
Cats are sold desexed, first vaccination and micro-chipped. They will be up to date on their worming and flea treatment.
PLEASE NOTE: Unless other wise stated as in the case of BARN/FARM cats.. ALL our cats are for INDOOR HOMES ONLY or specially built cat enclosures.. We rescued them off the street and would think nothing worse that they be placed back there and in danger of all the perils of modern day society. Please respect our wishes with these requirements. We care about our cats and matching the cat to the adopter is important as is the home they are going to.
All ages of cats are an estimate only as per microchip paperwork supplied by council.
