Barry: 8 year old Maltese x Silky.

What an amazing little man our Barry is! While he is no spring chicken, he is still very active for his age and loves playing catch and going for his daily walks.

At the moment, Barry is living with an older female dog and a couple of cats. His foster carer runs a grooming salon in Barry’s backyard and he has been fine with all the associated comings and goings.

While being a dog who loves affection and attention, Barry still maintains his independence and isn’t overly demanding. Barry is a well-mannered boy who is learning his basic commands such as, sit, bed, fetch and stay and walks well on a lead but he will need the final detail work on his toilet training. However, Barry knows his name and is a very well-behaved boy.

With his soft coat that can easily be cared for with just a bath and the occasional brush and clip, Barry is quite low maintenance. Having said that, Barry will need regular grooming. Barry would be happy as an only dog given plenty of love, attention and exercise, but wouldn’t mind sharing the love with other animals in the home. He would suit a home where someone is at home much of the time.

Recently released from the pound to Dog Rescue Mudgee – a Branch of Dog Rescue Newcastle, Barry is looking for a permanent home.

Barry is de-sexed, vaccinated, free of fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. His adoption fee is $300.
