About Daisy
Gorgeous Daisy is searching for her perfect forever home, with a loving and understanding family who will welcome her into the home to be part of everyday life.
She loves children of all ages and is especially good with toddlers. Daisy hangs out with her carers 10 month old granddaughter and a 2 year old on a regular basis. She is supervised of course, more for her safety than theirs, as she is very gentle with them.
Daisy loves other dogs - big, small, young and old - and really enjoys a pack walk with the two large dogs in her foster home. She has a special harness and walks very nicely on it. Due to her condition, Daisy is not going to require long walks, just short regular ones and she'll be happy.
This very special little girl has started life a bit behind the 8-ball, suffering from Cerebellar Hypoplasia. This is a neurological disorder that affects her fine motor skills, meaning she has to think a little longer before she does anything. Her depth perception is also a little off, causing lots of laughter as she loves to play fetch but tends to over-shoot the target more often than not. When she is excited she can loose a little bit more control of her limbs, but recovers very quickly.
This disorder has no affect on her quality of life, it should not progress, and doesn't require medication. She may walk a little wobbly, find multiple stairs challenging, and take a little longer to respond to commands, but the upside is she is very gentle, and doesn't exhibit any of the hard to deal with puppy traits, i.e. biting, jumping or chewing up your shoes and furniture.
Daisy has had some exposure to cats, and although she finds them very
intriguing, she is very respectful.
Daisy is easy to have around and is very low maintenance. She loves to be with you, but is also very good at amusing herself. She just loves her shell paddling pool, and spends a lot of time jumping in and out (not always gracefully!) and playing with her toys.
She is toilet trained and crate trained, and sleeps through the night without a peep. She knows how to "sit", "drop" and is responding more attentively to "come" when called.
We could go on and on about the positive attributes of this beautiful wee soul! If you are looking for a therapeutic, gentle, fun and loving new member of your family and are understanding of her minimal limitations, then you just have to meet Miss Daisy!
We dare you to not fall in love with her.
