About Trooper
Trooper got his name for being such a brave puppy while hospitalised for parvovirus. We rescued him when he was diagnosed, in order for him to receive vet treatment.
Trooper is a little solid bundle of fur and attitude. He is a typical puppy, who enjoys playing with his 18 month old dachshund foster brother, and chewing toys until they are completely wrecked!
He has a strong personality, tries to herd you and isn't overly fond of kisses and cuddles, as he is quite curious and just wants to check out his environment. He will then happily sleep near your feet on a puppy bed to while away the time.
He will have moderate-to-high exercise requirements and high-to-very high mental stimulation requirements in order to grow into a happy and balanced dog. He is social with other dogs and used to being around the older child in his foster home.
Trooper is located near WAGGA WAGGA, a five-hour drive from Sydney or Melbourne. Commercial transport to the approved adopter by road or air may be possible - just ask us to obtain a quote for you when submitting your application to adopt.
This pet will come microchipped, but council registration - if required in your state or territory - is not included in the adoption fee.
Adoption details
Our goal is to match pets' personalities and exercise/training requirements with people whose lifestyle they are best suited to. This reduces the chances of the pet winding up in a pound again. Please don't feel offended by our adoption process, it is for everyone's and every animal's benefit:
1. Submit application for adoption (obtain at Best Friends Pet Rescue website).
2. Homechecks are conducted on short-listed approved applicant(s).
3. Best match selected according to the pet's personality and needs.
4. Successful applicant notified, and must place holding deposit while transport/pickup arrangements made.
5. Adoption transaction completed.
