About Timmy and Toby ~ Maltese pair (on trial 13/04/16)
I am pleased to introduce the inseparable brothers Toby and Timmy, 8yo Maltese. Once these two get to know you and trust you they will absolutely adore you! Timmy is a little more on the shy side whereas Toby has a big personality.
These dynamic duo are very much inside dogs and have been their whole lives. They love to spend their days snoozing on the couch basking in the sun with short little adventures to the yard for a sniff and a pit stop. Toby and Timmy were mistreated in their earlier years so they do have some trust issues but they will let their walls down if you show them lots of love and affection! They are cautious of other dogs initially, they will take a few days to warm up to any new friends. They aren’t fans of dogs which are a great deal larger than them, but they have learnt to adore our two small dogs will play with them when they're in the mood.
Toby and Timmy walk fantastically on the lead and love to go for short walks to get their foster daddy’s coffee of a morning and they are brilliant in the car!
They are toilet trained but may take a few days to learn where to toilet in their new home but they will get the hang of it with a little patience and understanding from their new mummy and daddy.
Toby suffers from a genetic skin condition and was in quite bad shape when he first came into our care. However we have him on the mend. It will never be totally cured so for the foreseeable future he will need some medication and cream rubbed into his legs just so they stay soft and comfortable. It doesn't worry him so it doesn't worry us.
Toby and Timmy have their own bed but they much prefer to sleep at our feet and sometimes even on my pillow during the day (just because they miss us when you aren’t at home). Timmy and Toby have low shedding coats which need regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep them comfortable and beautiful.
The ideal forever home for these two little gentlemen would be where they are either the only fur babies in your life or one where their new brother/s and/or sister/s are of similar size or a little bigger. Toby and Timmy would suit houses/townhouses with both large and small yards. Toby’s little legs aren’t made for jumping so it does take him a little bit to jump onto the bed and lounge so ideally the boys would go to a home with limited stairs.
They are eagerly waiting to meet their new forever mummy and daddy so they can spoil you with love and snuggles!

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
