About Jedi

Jedi is one happy, handsome guy! With distinctive small ears, and a jet black coat, he doesn't look like any other dog. Full of affection and super obedient, he has become fast friends with the two female foster dogs he's currently living with and would do well with your existing female dog/s or as an only pet.
Jedi has a long story behind him, and has now found his way into our rescue once again. Jedi was originally found a few years back, wet, cold and he had a sign around his neck, "Free Dog". He was tied to a railing at a toilet block in a park. One of our founding directors organised for his story to be in the local paper, and eventually, after no one came forward, Maggie's Rescue took him in.
His situation drew some attention and Jedi was soon adopted. And all seemed well. Then they moved house and there were no fences. Naturally, Jedi wandered and sadly discovered chooks and ducks at the neighbours. We were approached to take him back, and while we were still organising an alternative way to get him into care, they surrendered him to RSPCA Qld. Once we knew this, we placed a hold in the event he needed out. Jedi had apparently had a potential home already and we were really happy. A few days later, we received the call that he was now failing his temp assessment and would we take him, we heard later that his mental stress was a more significant factor. Poor Jedi was not doing well in the pound, and it was decided he should come back to our rescue. Our hearts broke when we looked at his surrender questionnaire. We noticed the question of what does your dog want when you get home. The answer written down? "He wants love".
Can you please consider opening your home and heart to beautiful Jedi? He is now doing so well in foster care. We know he was stressed out by the pound environment, as he is now flourishing.
MY IDEAL HOME: I am happiest being with you and if not next to you on the couch, I won't be far away. I have really good manners: I sit, shake, drop, and have excellent recall. I even play ball and bring it back every time. My foster mum says someone has put alot of work into me, because I am such an obedient and well trained dog.
How I love playing with my youngest foster sister! We romp and chase and have great fun. My foster mum sees how much I love my foster dad and says I would be a great companion dog. I think I would get along with a female doggy companion, or do just fine on my own.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Low to medium, I'd say. As a laid back, low-maintenance kind of guy, I enjoy one good walk a day, but otherwise I'm more than happy to snuggle on the couch anytime. Let me be near you, and I will be happy.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Older children (10+) who understand how to behave around dogs would be best for me.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: No cats please, and preferably only female dogs. Definitely no chickens, ducks etc as I LOVE to chase!

Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at http://www.maggiesrescue.org/adoption-enquiry/. Please use this link rather than the 'find out more' button on the pet's PetRescue profile.
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
