Spot ~ Fox Terrier (On Trial 19/12/15)

Hello!! My name is Spot and I’m a 2 year old male Fox Terrier in perfect health.

My foster parents describe me as gorgeous, very affectionate and say that I love attention. When I get excited I run at you like a crab, where my bottom is almost in line with my head. They think it’s quite cute (I mean, who wouldn’t?). I am a funny character. My previous owners handed me in to the ranger with no training whatsoever and before coming into care I was an outside dog. I like this inside gig though. It’s pretty great!

I’m keen to cuddle up with you and watch TV at night, and run and play in the yard during the day with the other dogs - who I like a lot. I’m a people pooch, and I’ve heard them talk about these things called cats and kids – but I don’t know what they are. I’ve never met one, so I’m not sure if I’d like them or not? I love chewing on my rope toys and playing fetch (I have yet to perfect the returning of the ball, but I’m getting there!). Unlike most of my breed, I don’t jump the fence!

I am learning to walk on the lead but I need a bit more practise. I will let you know if someone comes into the yard but once they come in the front door I am likely to smother them for pats.

I currently sleep on a dog bed on the floor beside my foster parents, but occasionally I sneak into bed with them! I get really excited when taken off the lead, so it is not advisable - as I sometimes don’t hear my call when I am so overwhelmed by the outside world.

I’m house trained, but sometimes I need to be let out during the night. I’m not a fussy eater either. Food makes me happy. It is best to not leave me inside alone, as I tend to amuse myself with shoes, clothing and other items within my reach.

I have learned the basic commands of sit, stay and come. I even sit and stay before I am fed each meal now!! I’m pretty great.

My ideal home would have a medium to large yard to run around in, with balls and rope/chew toys (although I need to sleep inside). I’d love a caring family who could give me a good amount of attention and lots of love, and in return I promise to give you all my love, kisses and licks. Deal?
