About Albert - Terrier X (Trial 25/11/15)
The Little Awesome Gentleman. Albert (or Alby) is a 2 year old Terrier x. He is an absolute charmer. If having a little adoring shadow follow you around and look at you with nonstop unconditional love is your thing, then Albert is your guy. He is also smart as a whip and as loyal as Scooby Doo.
As much as he loves to be around his special person, he also doesn’t mind a solo patrol of the yard, a sit with his doggie foster sister or a play with a small ball. He is a great fetch player. He is ok outside by himself but does really enjoy human companionship so his new owners will definitely be the kind of people that want a member of the family, to join them inside of an evening, and want to spend as much time with him as possible.
He is a doggie doorbell so whenever he sees or hears someone coming into the yard he gives off a bark or 2 but settles once the “threat” has been located and determined “safe”.
Albert is absolutely the happiest dog. His tail wags from side to side so much that you think sometimes he will take off like a helicopter. He loves his pats and gives soft licks as kisses. He will then settle at your side for a sleep or curl up on your lap depending on what you are doing. He likes to sleep on the bed but is such a great sleeper that you don’t even know he’s there.
He has soft, white hair (barely sheds) and is a handsome little guy. He knows this though and uses it to his advantage. Try saying “no” to him and he will listen and obey but then flutter his little doggie eyelashes your way and roll onto his back for a tummy scratch and you’ll soon be forgetting whatever you were saying no to.
Albert can be a bit territorial. He has been good with girl dogs but boy dogs and him don’t see eye to eye. He just can’t relax around them and gets a bit growly. So it is probably best that he is rehomed with a girl dog, cats or by himself (but with lots of human company). He also requires a medium sized backyard and daily walks.
Albert is absolutely the most loving, affectionate dog and is looking for an owner/s who is equally so to begin the great love affair of his life.
If you think Albert sounds like the perfect new family member for you, please contact his foster carer Cindy by email cinadmil@yahoo.com.au. Albert is in foster care in Kitchener just north of Newcastle NSW and is available for interstate adoption.
Albert's adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
