About Shadow *On Trial in Her New Home*
*SHADOW IS CURRENTLY TRIALING HER NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* “Shadow by name, shadow by nature!” and she’s looking for a lap to call her own; will it be yours???
Recently surrendered to us for rehousing through no fault of her own, Shadow is happiest when fulfilling the role of lapdog and can sit there for hours basking in the attention. She much prefers to be inside with you which we’d want to see continued in her forever home especially as she’s toilet-trained and very well behaved. She can be a bit wary and standoffish when meeting new people though does warm up once she knows you’ll do her no harm.
Shadow gets along well with her foster family’s other little dogs and is terrific with their cats – there’s been no squabbling over anything not even food. She takes her role as watchdog quite seriously and will let you know if anyone approaches the house though she’s not a “yapper” who barks for no reason.
While in care Shadow has been learning to sit for treats; her faves being Schmackos and she’ll do almost anything for a chicken neck! She has an air of expectation when it comes to attention and loves to be picked up and fussed over whenever possible. She also likes to be close and will follow you around as you go about your daily business.
Weighing in at less than 5kgs Shadow is a terrific ‘take-anywhere’ size. She is fairly low maintenance only needing a short walk or run around the backyard to use up her energy and she does lose some hair though regular brushing and the occasional bath will keep this pretty girl looking her best!

Adorable Shadow sleeps inside at night – preferably on your bed if she can get away with it! We would love to see her in a home with a retiree or someone who has a lot of time for her, though if her humans will be away at work during the day, then a little dog for company and a doggie door so she could still be inside when she wanted would be the go.
If you’ve got the lap that loveable Shadow is looking for then please download and complete a SARG Dog Application form by following this link: http://www.sarg.net.au/adopt-a-pet.html

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
