Ike

Ike came into care with his brother Kyza after being exposed to both a starved and neglectful household at 8.5 weeks old but this little man is a fighter and even after being severely underweight pulled through and showed just how sweet and caring he truly is and he has a tail that wags at ALL times.

Due to his past, Ike is only just being exposed to things away from his mum and complete litter and can be a little shy when it comes to new environments but warms very quickly once both praise verbally and physically is given. He is currently in foster care with 2 cats, 8 adult dogs and another similar aged puppy and he has been welcomed with open arms and has shown that he indeed adores the company of other friendly dogs. He has also lived with children in his temporary foster home before he came into our care and did absolutely amazing with being greeted and cuddled by them.

Ike is going to be a large breed male so a household that understands that is essential and one that can continue his obedience training so he can become a role model doggie citizen. Being so young, Ike is easy when it comes to socialisation and wants to learn how to interact with kids, animals and other humans and we think due to this early young start he should become a very good social man.

We recommend a household for Ike either with or without another dog, a house that understands large breed dogs and one where he can continue his obedience training as he grows up. He is currently being crate and toilet trained and doing well, and learning his basic manners and obedience as well. As Ike is a little timid we would need a very understanding and patient owner who can help him overcome this milestones and help his development socially. Ike is located in the Hunter Region NSW, about 2.5 hours north of Sydney
