Miss Hooch~On trial 9/01/16

She’s exotic and beautiful, she’s a rare find on a lucky day. This is Miss Hooch, Dogue De Bordeaux x Mastiff, 14 months old, sweet natured and gentle.

Miss Hooch (named after a distant cousin who starred in the movie “Turner and Hooch”) is looking for her forever home, and it will most likely be with someone who understands and appreciates large-breed dogs. Her foster-carer would very much like to keep her and, if only she didn’t currently have several dogs, Miss Hooch would already be a permanent part of the family, so if you think you’d be the right person or family to adopt Miss Hooch, be quick!

Miss Hooch weighs 40 kilos and stands around 80 cm high from the ground to the top of her head. Her wrinkled face and her beautiful pale green eyes – so well matched to her lovely pale coat – give her the illusion of a creature from another planet; a nice creature, a friendly creature, one that Stephen Spielberg would just love to copy.

Miss Hooch gets on very well with other dogs and likes to play in that typical loping big-dog style. When she came into foster-care she was very thin and had recently become a mother. She didn’t know how to be a puppy herself. But now she does, and she likes her toys and to chase one of the other dogs around the yard. She is living with dogs of all sizes, biggies down to littlies, and she hasn’t had a cross word with any.

As typifies her breeding “Hoochie” is quite devoted to her human family, and likes to be a part of every minute of their day. She loves to go out in the car, or to snuggle into the couch and fall asleep with her head on your lap. She’d LOVE to sleep with you on your bed, but it’s possible they don’t make beds big enough for her to share. She is already house trained.

We’re not sure how Miss Hooch views cats, since there aren’t any at her foster-carer’s home, and neither have we seen her with children, but she’s a gentle girl and we predict that she’d get on with kids just fine. Very small children may not be a good match for her because of her size.

Although she is one of those “loose lipped” kind of breeds Miss Hooch does not have sloppy chops – no drooling or dribbling, no need to keep a towel handy if you’re out visiting.

Miss Hooch is located near Raymond Terrace, and only 10 -15 minutes from the end of the M1 if you’re coming up from Sydney.
