About Widget
What a smoocher!
Widget is an adorable boy who has the most wonderful, sweet nature. He's a little bit cheeky and a lot of amazing. He's a social butterfly when at the dog park, making sure he gets around to say hello to every person there, and of course solicit some pats!
Wonderful with other dogs of all ages, shapes and sizes, Widgy loves to play. Whether it be bitey face, chasies or tuggy, he's up for it.His favourite game is having others chasing him trying to get the toy from him and boy is he agile!
A handsome young man with a shiny black coat, Widget is a large breed and is currently around 55kg and a few inches shy of my hip.
Widget is fantastic in the car, he just lays down and goes to sleep, is great at night and will trot off to bed and not stir until morning, when the lure of breakfast will be too much to bear.
Food motivated, and eager to please, he is easy to train and knows to sit and wait for his food, and is house trained. He has great manners around dogs and food and will wait his turn.
He loves his humans and is a very loyal and loving dog. He follows me everywhere and will always come and check in with me. Don't try to leave the house without him either! He'll race you to the front door as he just wants to come with you everywhere. He just jumps in the car, lays down and goes to sleep. You won't even notice he's there!
Widgy is just the best companion dog you could have and would make a fabulous best buddy for anyone looking for that and willing for him to be a major part of their life. He's also very sweet and gentle around children and older people.
He adores cuddles and pats and curling up on the lounge behind your legs for a snooze. One of the most smoochy dogs I've fostered, Widget is a gorgeous young man, who is so beautiful in so many ways.
As much as he's social, he's also a good alert dog at home and will let you know someone's around.
This boy is an amazing dog who must have another dog for company, and one that enjoys playing and would prefer someone home more often than not as he misses his humans if they're away for too long. A family that will include him in their activities and further his training would be ideal, he still needs some extra lead work.
Widget has lived most of his life on acres, so is used to a quieter home life. He still requires exercise and stimulation and would do well with a moderately active family. He's not suited to inner city living where there is a lot of noise and stuff going on, as he's a little overwhelmed by too much going on all at once. He just doesn't well with too much being thrown at him all at once. A nice, quiet suburban home would be ideal, or any acreage where he'd still get outside the home to experience the world.
I can guarantee you this boy is worth adopting. You'll be rewarded with the most loving, sweet, gentle boy who is happy and full of love and adoration. He really is special.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
