About Willow
Willow is an absolute gentle soul who adores other dogs and is suitable to go to a home with livestock and poultry. She has been raised as a companion dog before being surrendered into our care but has been exposed to points of her guardianship and has shown excellent maremma traits.
Willow has her basic training, as well as gold leash skills and recall. Willow has been exposed to young children- newborns upwards and has shown nothing but love and kindness to them and worries like a mumma when they're upset or hurt. Due to her past household willow is surrendering from obesity and will need a healthy spout of exercise and diet to make sure she loses those excess kilos so she is at the right weight range for her size and build.
Her foster home is on 25 acres with paddock fencing, 2 horses, over 12 dogs and also chickens and she is fine with all members of the household. She is a very human focused maremma though and would suit a household on a small acreage who wants to have a companion as Willow doesn't like to be left alone with the livestock at night and would much prefer being able to guard her humans from the comfort of the indoors.
We wouldn't recommend her to live in a suburban setting as she does have a tendency to bark and howl when strangers approach the territory but someone with experience with companion maremmas in this setting would definitely be considered.
Willow can live as either an only dog or with other dogs and any animals seem to be fine with her. Children are excellent as well and she does enjoy supervising them and making sure they're safe and sound.
Experience and research into the maremma sheepdog breed is a MUST!

Adoption details
In the ENQUIRY SECTION please explain in LENGTH some basics about yourself/ your life/ your household and what type of life you can provide for one of our rescue animals.
If successful, you would be contacted by phone, where we will talk about your enquiry and potentially organise a meet and greet between you/ your dogs/ your family and the potential candidate
From there, you can either take your animal with you if the meet and greet was successful and their vet work has been completed- or if the vet work hasn't been completed, you must wait until it's finished before taking your new friend home which will be organised between yourself and the foster carer.
Every animal has a 2 week trial period.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
