About Dash
Swift is an energetic, active kelpie with likely a dash of border collie in her genes. She shows a bit of working dog "eye" and tries to herd her doggy playmates - and barks at them when they ignore her attempts to direct them!
After a play session, she is keen to crawl into someone's lap for a cuddle and a snooze. She likes to be allowed to come inside for some "people time" and is housetrained to use a flap door when she needs to go outside.
She loves children and would be suited to an owner with acreage or to an active outdoorsy family who will keep her busy. Swift loves to chew on toys and bones, dig in the sand pit, and play games. She is very intelligent and eager to learn, so she would excel at agility, flyball, or other dog sports.
Swift is fostered in WAGGA WAGGA, a 5-hour drive from Melbourne or Sydney.
This pet will come vaccinated, desexed, and microchipped. Registration with your Council, if required in your state, is NOT included in the adoption fee.
Medical notes
We thank the wonderful staff at Lake Road Vet for treating Swift for canine parvovirus in their ICU. Thanks to them, she has made a full recovery.
Adoption details
Our goal is to match pets' personalities and exercise/training requirements with people whose lifestyle they are best suited to. This reduces the chances of the pet winding up in a pound again. Please don't feel offended by our adoption process, it is for everyone's and every animal's benefit:
1. Submit application for adoption (obtain at Best Friends Pet Rescue website).
2. Homechecks are conducted on short-listed approved applicant(s).
3. Best match selected according to the pet's personality and needs.
4. Successful applicant notified, and must place holding deposit while transport/pickup arrangements made.
5. Adoption transaction completed.
