About Dakota
Dakota’s mission in life is to get as many pats as possible!
Dakota is a big ball of love! She is an intelligent lady that is still learning her manners and basic training like walking on a lead and not to jump up. She prefers head pats over treats for rewards during training. (she is obsessed with head pats!) She thinks she is a lap dog and just wants to cuddle up to you. She loves other dogs and has not meet a dog she doesn’t like! She plays really well with dogs her size and is so friendly when she meets new dogs and people on her walks. As she is still learning not to jump up on people for pats, she may not be suited to a family with small children. She loves chew toys and dipping her feet in a shallow pool. She really enjoys a walk and is starting to walk well on a gentle leader. She also LOVES to go for a short run! She is very polite when you put the lead on her, and will sit and stay while you place her gentle leader on. She is starting to walk very well on a gentle leader.
She sleeps well during the night by herself or with another dog. She does not get frightened at all during storms. Nothing really fazes her! She is a confident, happy, intelligent lady.
Dakota will require a strong leader that can continue the great training she is already receiving. She would do well with another medium – large dog to keep her company, however she would do just fine being the centre of attention in a family who can provide her lots of attention!
She is now desexed after what we think was a life of breeding. She has what we think is a ‘happy tail’ injury to the end of her tail which does not seem to bother her. We think her constant wagging of her tail has maybe hit too many walls!
This lady has a very unique grin that she shows off when she is super excited. You may be lucky enough to see it one day!
Dakota is currently being fostered in western Sydney.
Adoption details
Firstly you will need to complete an application with your name and address and contact details for the microchip records. Our online application form is available on our website http://www.radarescue.org/online-application-form
Or an application form can be requested by using the Email Carer feature on the pet's listing.
Please note that while we consider all applications in the order in which we receive them, our animals are not adopted out on a first come, first served basis. Our objective is to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable ‘forever’ home available to meet the animal's (and the person’s) characteristics and needs.
The final decision about which new home the animal goes to is made by the foster carer based on their knowledge and understanding of the potential home and the personality of the individual animal. Sometimes it may take several enquiries before you find the right RADAR furry friend for you!
We will need a non-refundable holding deposit of $50 minimum to hold a pet for you whilst awaiting everything to be finalised, however this amount is deducted from the adoption fee.
RADAR expects full payment on exchange of the pet or prior to it leaving on transport.
RADAR expects you to be responsible for transport costs. We can help source appropriate transport options or help find accommodation if you need to travel and stay overnight.
It is understood that if all goes wrong that you can return the pet safely and unharmed to RADAR for a full refund within one week of the adoption.
