About Stella - Ridgeback x On Trial 9/02/16
Meet the very beautiful, the very elegant, Stella, a 3 year old ridgeback girl possibly crossed with a greyhound. We think this girl is the Elle McPherson of the dog world, with her beautiful long legs and lovely face. A pageant winner no doubt!
Stella is definitely a classy girl. She sits for her dinner – without even being asked to do so – and whenever you are with her she keeps her attention on YOU. She likes to please you, and to do as she is asked. We haven’t heard her bark, though I’m sure she can, but even when there is a ruckus in the dog run Miss Stella keeps her cool and her dignity.
Stella gets on well with other dogs. She is currently spending her days with a male cattle dog who tries to entice her to wrestle. She likes the occasional game of chasing, and she is much faster than him, but wrestling on the ground with a boy from the farm isn’t really her style.
Stella is not a fan of cats so she would prefer not to live with any, but most medium to large sized dogs would definitely be potential companions worth considering. Alternatively she could be an only-dog, so long as she was a part of the family of course. We’re not sure how she goes with children, but she has a sweet nature and is actually quite gentle, so we think she would be just fine.
Like all dogs Stella ADORES a walk. She is a powerful dog but she walks quite well and responds to your voice. A bit of practice at her new owner’s pace will show her what’s required.
Stella would make a wonderful companion in any situation, whether with someone very active, or someone retired who could take her for walks and spend lots of time with her. She is used to spending time outside during the day, but would love to be inside with the family whenever they are home. She loves her pats and cuddles and would be a very devoted and loyal companion.
To find out more about Stella, or to arrange to meet her, please contact her foster-carer Lynda, after 7pm Monday to Wednesday, or any time other days: 4987 1213 or text mobile 0401 264 514.
Stella is located near Raymond Terrace and only 10 minutes or so from the end of the M1 if you are travelling from Sydney.
Stella's adoption fee is $300 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
