About Boss .. sweetheart x
Don’t be fooled by the name! Boss is NOT the bossy boots in his foster home.
Far from it.
He is a submissive 2 year old pup who loves to PLAY and when his older foster brother and sister are all played out, he is more than happy to play on his own with toys (Kong’s are his favourite).
Boss was surrendered to SODR through no fault of his own. His former home was led to believe that he would grow up to be a Staffy x Jack Russell mix.
And then he grew.
And grew some more.
Weighing in at 30kg he was simply too big for their tiny house. Naturally, we think that the majority of that weight in his heart!
One of the things we are trying to teach him is not jump on people. In his defence, Boss LOVES everyone and gets so excited with his “helicopter tail” when meeting new people. For this reason we believe a home with older kids and teenagers would be more suitable for Boss. He responds to “sit” and will do anything for food which makes him easy to train.
We have introduced Boss to the “halti” or “shoulder saver” as I like to call it (we do like having our arms and shoulder intact). Boss, in his excitement to see, sniff and wee on the world, does pull on the leash and the halti has improved “walkies” massively. He is a strong lad after all!
In Boss’ Furever home, we would like to see a continuation in his training. We have been told that Boss is a scaredy cat when it comes to feline friends so unfortunately we he will not be rehomed with a cat. Doggy friends are optional. As much as he loves having playmates, he is okay playing on his own and it really is CUTE watching him play with his toys.
We adore Boss. He has so many kisses, cuddles and love to give and with some extra training he would be the PAWfect addition to the family!
