Chevy ~ Great Dane x Mastiff (trial 22/11/15)

CHEVY 1.5 YEAR GREAT DANE X. Chevy's the name, smoochin's my game! That's right I'm 42 kilos of pure snuggles and made up of two of the most striking dogs to walk the earth, a great dane and a mastiff. I'm here to prove that nice guys don't always finish last!

You see there's times in life when you don't want to be first, for me this was Saturday. U-huh, I made it to the top of the put to sleep list! I was just hours from crossing the rainbow bridge when the dog rescue superheros swooped in and saved the day. Because of this I'm ever so grateful - even for the small things, like a pat, a bowl of water and a toy! Yep I got my very own toy on Sunday, woo hoo first time ever I've owned a toy.

I've been learning some pretty cool stuff to, so when I do this thing mum keeps calling "sit" all these really awesome things happen! She goes all crazy patting me and kissing me and then I get food?! It's pretty cool and she goes even more bonkers when I do this "drop" thingy, it's only been like a day or two but I could get used to this! I've been trying to think of other ideas to make her excited. When I lay my head on my feet she gets all teary and take photos for Facebook, I don't have my own account yet.

So I need somewhere to live guys. I've been waiting for like aaaaaaaaaaaages and no one picks me. I think it's cos I'm really big, but that just means there's more of me to love. I'll hand you over to mum now and she can tell you all that ins and outs. Cant wait to meet you, promise you will love me. Chev.

Chevy is an absolute delight to have in our home. He is adorable, loyal, friendly and an absolute softie. \ He has come to care with no skills but is fast learning how to sit and drop. Once these are mastered he will be ready to extend his bag of tricks. He is a fast learner and so keen to please, he just really enjoys catching up on all the love and attention he has missed out on. Given his size and strength and limited manners as yet, he will need a strong and confident owner willing to spend time with him to ensure he doesn't scare people by jumping on them to say hello.

He is incredibly friendly, great with my son and also our large breed dog. He was a little scared at first but as he is feeling more comfortable he is just a bundle of fun. He is still very much a puppy so will need someone who understands he requires lots of stimulation to prevent him being bored. \ Chevy would love another dog to play with, due to his size, it would be best this be a large dog as he loves to get up on his back legs for a wrestle. He is ok around children but his size and energy means he could easily knock them over so for this reason he is best suited to a home with older children.

Chevy is still growing into his skin and will fill out nicely over the next few months in an absolutely striking boy. He has a huge tongue, massive ears and stands a bit larger than a rottweiler but is not even close to the size of a grown great dane. He's certainly a conversation starting dog, with his gorgeous strong facial features and beautiful markings.

He currently sleeps outside but loves to come in after dinner for a snuggle and play - we would love for this to continue in his new home, you may even want him to sleep on your bed, I'm sure he will be ok with that!

We often catch him sun baking and he is just as happy to lay about as he is to play fetch. There is absolutely nothing that there isn't to love about this beautiful boy, he just found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time but that's all history now and he's absolutely ready and waiting to start writing a new chapter and live…. happily ever after!
