About Ellie
Elegant and striking Ellie (D877) is a 6 month old female fawn greyhound x that is looking for a forever home. (we are wondering if Ellie is crossed with a Saluki or Wolf Hound.) Her fur is very soft and she is very tall - currently the size of a standard greyhound and she has some growing to do.
Ellie is a smart and sweet girl that will need a home that will continue her training. She is learning to sit on command and walk on a lead without zig zagging. Ellie loves cuddles, being a part of the family, just being in your company and chasing the hose water. She is true to the greyhound nature of resting on warm days and having the “zoomies” in the morning and evening when it is cooler. Ellie is gentle when taking food and has shown she is good with other dogs.
Ellie has been introduced to a cat and she was happy to sniff and follow but there was no aggression. Due to her breed it is anticipated that if a cat ran she would chase, however if a cat was happy to stand it's ground we are sure they could co-habitate with mutual respect.
Being a pup Ellie likes to play with her to but has not been destructive with them. Ellie is showing signs that she is house toilet trained – no accidents yet.
Ellie's adoption fee is $350- and helps to cover some of her veterinary work. She will go to her new home desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated. If she is adopted within the Horsham Rural City council it will also cover the remainder of this year’s registration.
Ellie's temporary microchip number is DAB1

Please note the blue colour on her chest and legs is actually dye that was put on her by a young child prior to her coming into the rehousing program.
