About Lexie (Prof.Obedience Trained/Dog Friendly)
Lexie is Cattle x and approx 12mths old. She was busted out of the Pound by Wally's and has undergone 'bootcamp' in a specialised Training program at Dural along with another of our foster dogs, Khan.
The training program worked on commands such as 'sit', 'drop', 'loose lead', 'stay' and recall work and Lexie's new family will have ongoing support from the trainers who worked with Lexie.
It has been discovered since coming to us that Lexie, although dog friendly, can be Miss bossy boots at times but does respond well to correction. This is an issue that was worked on whilst at 'bootcamp'. Pocket pets and cats are not suited to Lexie's personality and Lexie would prefer not to share her new home with either of these. Lexie has met a couple of children while in foster care and has shown to be calm and happy around them as long as the children allow her to approach them.
Lexie's favourite game is 'fetch'. She will happily play ball ALL day if you had the energy to keep up! Her recall is great and will respond well when being called. Lexi is toilet trained as well as crate trained, enjoys her walks, although does tend to take you for a walk but this issue was worked on while at 'bootcamp'. Lexie loves the water and enjoys heading to the beach and lake.
We are unsure of Lexie's background but have noticed since coming into care that she is wary with males, which indicates she may have been mistreated or has felt threatened in the past by them. Once Lexie feels safe and gains your trust, this should no longer be an issue but will take time and patience to overcome.
Lexie doesn't seem too phased about being on her own, although a companion to keep her company would also make her happy. We would love to see Lexie find a home with/without another doggie companion and active family who will enjoy taking her for daily walks and trips to the beach and parks. A family that will continue on with her training would certainly benefit both Lexie as well as her new family.

When enquiring about Lexie, please give us some indication of the type of home that she would have with you. We are interested in things such as other animals (past and present), children who may have contact with the dog, whether you own or rent your home, what opportunities for socialisation outside the home your dog would have, how much you/someone is home and most importantly, why you feel this dog may be suitable for you.
Wally's Doggie Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
