Frida (On Trial 26/6/16)

Frida is a 10 month old medium sized Staffy x Mastiff who is a gorgeous girl with a beautiful nature. She has most probably finished her growing now and is more on the Staffy sized than Mastiff.

She loves her doggie friends & gets on great with them all. She has shown some tendency to be dominant with smaller dogs in her last foster placement but was quite good with her last foster carers cats. In any situation though, if there's a human around, that's where her main focus will be.

Frida loves water, and fetch and tug games. She is fine being outside through the day with company, but at night she likes to come inside and cuddle up with the rest of the family & fur friends. With the warmer weather she's been choosing to sleep outside on the veranda on the dog beds.

For a typical playful, boisterous pup, Frida is doing very well with her training and seems to pick things up quickly. One call to her while she's happily playing, brings her bounding happily straight back. She has really good manners and will sit and wait patiently for her food, until the signal 'go ahead' and is content to eat with dog or human companions.

Frida can be a bit puppy mouthy, particularly when she's over excited, but this has been improving with reward based training. As with most young dogs we always recommend continued training with positive techniques to help young dogs grow into well rounded adults. Frida is best suited to a family with older children as she can jump around during play time and little children could accidentally get knocked over (even though she would make it up to them with puppy kisses!)

Frida is a complete lady when out walking on the lead. She is happy just to be out in the fresh air with you and doesn't mind if it's a quick stroll around the block or a long walk along the beach or in the bush. She never pulls and will even walk well on a duel lead which she has been doing with her foster brother.

Frida enjoys company so much, that her ideal happy home would have a doggy friend, or a human family member to love and play with.
