Merri - Adoption Pending

Merri is a shy but sweet girl who just wants to please. She is a 1 year old Maremma Sheepdog who hasn't been shown how nice the world can be and is learning in foster care that things are not so scary. She is now ready to find a forever home!

Merri’s ideal home will have a calm but confident dog friend to help her with future training, so she can shadow until she finds her feet. Merri has come a long way in care but needs a kind and understanding owner that will show how good the world can be. She just needs confidence.

Like all Maremmas she does have a stubborn streak and will do things in her own time. \ Mary is not food motivated, is currently learning about cats, doing well with lead-training and has meet several other dogs with no issues.

Merri is young and has lots of energy so will need exercise and play to match. If you are in the garden, Merri won’t be far away keeping an eye out for you. She loves the kiddy pool and will dig until its empty. She is not a fan of waves at the beach, but does like a dip in the river.

A friend has described her as “an oyster - closed, but once open you will find a pearl.”
