About Snow
My name is Snow. I am a de-sexed, female Boxer and approx. 12 months old. \ Although I came into rescue quite underweight and like my food, I am not actually food or treat obsessed, but do love a pat and/or a brush. I am happy to lie by your side and be patted for as long as you like. I have been told my coat is so very, very soft that it is like velvet to touch. I have gorgeous big eyes and ears that look like piggy tails when I run!
I am a very quiet dog so will not disturb your neighbours or interrupt your good night’s sleep. I am aIso very gentle, especially when I eat a treat from your hand. I currently sleep outside at night (most nights) but I do come in and sleep at your feet while you watch TV or I may tap along behind you if you are wandering around the house (or the garden). When I have slept in overnight I have slept through with no accidents.
I know the basic commands like sit, stay and come but I have never had anyone spend a lot of time with me and my training. I would benefit from my new family investing time early on \ with me as I am very smart but I can be easily distracted. This is due to the lack of training and also maybe because I am still a young dog.
I love going for walks and I am a dog that will need daily exercise - some of which will need to include running off lead as I am an active dog. I also love to run and play with other dogs, any size will do. Basically company of any sort will suit me. I am generally very good on the lead, although will want to meet and play with other dogs if we see them so I may pull or zigzag, again this is where some consistency with my training would benefit me and my new family. In general my recall is good so I am often off lead when away from roads and in parks but if there is another dog I will want to meet them before I come back to you - I will come back once the initial excitement is over. I love the water and will bound through it and can swim but prefer to keep my feet on the ground. I also use a shell pool to keep me cool in the yard in the warmer weather, and am happy to lie and sleep in the yard once I’ve had my exercise.
I am excellent in the car. I either sit up and look out the window or lie down and have a snooze. I currently use a car harness to keep me safe so I stay in one spot while in the car and don’t try to jump or move around.
I currently am in foster with other dogs and cats and we all seem to get along. I would suit an active family or active person/couple and ideally one with another dog that would keep me company while my family is at work/school and that would include me in their outings and activities.
I have a beautiful smile and a very happy nature and would love to be part of your family and home.
Please feel free to contact WDR and ask for me. Love Snow.
