About Peace (D3063)
PEACE'S STORY
Peace and the P puppies have a special story. They were brought down by a remote community to SAFE Broome, together with another mother and her litter - 18 pups in all. The litters hadn’t been separated, so were all mixed up with the pups feeding from both mothers. We still don’t really know which pup belongs to which mother, although as they are getting older it’s easier to have an educated guess!
Many people have been involved in their rescue. For example, two volunteers drove them from Broome to Karratha, sharing the load by meeting in Port Hedland. Since then, the P puppies and Peace have been living in foster care with a caring young family who, amongst the joys and hard work, have had to deal with the sad loss of one pup to ill health.
\
The other mother and pups have been in foster care in Broome and soon will be flown to the Dogs’ Refuge Home in Shenton Park for rehoming. They have also sadly suffered the death of a puppy.
But we are so delighted that the mothers and the surviving pups will be rehomed, desexed, microchipped and vaccinated. This is a fabulous outcome and we are grateful to everyone who has worked together to achieve this for both the dogs and the community.
PERSONALITY
Peace has a lovely, gentle temperament and will prance around when she’s happy. She’s afraid of very young children, removing herself from their vicinity, but is fine with children 8 years and older.
The personal rewards of adopting this wonderful mother dog will be great. To enjoy her lovely company and watch her blossom in a home of her own, call SAFE Karratha on (08) 9185 4634.
MEDICAL
She is having treatment for a chronic skin condition and while she’s already pretty, will be a real stunner when all her hair has grown back. Of course, once she has finished weaning the young pups, her teats won’t be as prominent.
