About Bob & Marley
Sometimes little souls walk into your life and you are never, ever the same again, Bob and Marley are two such souls.
Bob and Marley have never had a family before they were placed into care, they had never been for walks in the park, trips in the car, visited a vet, watched a game of footy with their family or even fed daily. They didn't know what cuddles on the couch meant and they definitely didn't know that an outstretched hand could be that of trust and love.
Bob and Marley came into care with beagles and many other breeds, and we were asked if we could help them too, we didn't hesitate to say yes, and believe us when we tell you that they and so many of their friends have changed our lives for the better.
Marley is the athlete of the two, she loves running, sprinting, swimming in any vessel of water that she can find and who can blame her. Imagine the joy of her face when she realised that she was free, free to run, free to play and would never have to go through another summer in horrendous conditions without clean and available water. Marley will occasionally spin to deal with a stressful moment but she also occasionally do an excited spin when she sees her food being prepared or when she realises you may have a treat for her. Marley will sit back and watch how other animals interact with her humans and once she feels safe she may dart back and forth and eventually come right up to you.
Bob is the thinker of the two, he has such an aloof nature and can be the worrier of the two when he is first in new environments. Bob will sit back, almost hovering on his toes in anticipation of what may or may not happen. He will always make sure that Marley is safe and happy and will then proceed with his own needs. When Bob first arrived in care he met up with several of his old family members and to see poodles prancing in sheer delight at the sight of him was one of the most beautiful moments we have seen working with these amazing dogs. Watching Bob come out of his shell and learn to trust was a journey that none of us here at BRV will ever forget and we will always be thankful to him for allowing us to help teach him that everything was going to be ok.
Bob and Marley now run up to their foster family when they come home, bob even squeals with delight when he sees them and nudges open hands with his little nose and asks for pats, such a major milestone for a little guy who had never had positive interactions with human hands before. Bob and Marley LOVE going on their daily walks, in fact its made a major difference in helping them learn all about the world and to bond with their new family. Bob and Marley are crate trained, sleep inside and just adore other dogs, its the one thing that they understand.
If you think that you have the perfect home to offer these very special little souls please visit our website www.beaglerescuevic.org and fill in our online application form, it will be one of the best journeys that you will ever embark on.
ps: Bob will offer you a paw as you drive along with him as co-pilot!
We're looking for a very patient family who are just as excited as us to see them grow and flourish. Some days its not easy when they run from you in fear. But then they come and take a treat from you and its the happiest moment of your week! They will go backwards some days, and leap forwards on other days, but overall they are always learning and always improving.
Their new family must let them sleep inside with them and must not have any children, they must have secure fencing and most importantly, must be patient. If this sounds like you, please fill out our online form and even though its based on beagles, it still needs to filled out with poodles in mind instead of beagles. http://www.beaglerescuevic.org/adoption.php
