About Shania
Shania is a very timid girl, she's never known the love of a human, she's never celebrated a birthday, a christmas or just been spoiled for no reason... She doesn't understand what love is, but she wants to. She desperately wants to be loved and she is learning how to very quickly.
She has, however, discovered her love of food a lot faster that anything else and her other love of rolling in the grass in the sunshine. These are her 2 most favourite things on the entire planet. Even having had all but 6 teeth removed, she still munches away at whatever is presented to her to eat! her poor mouth was full of rotten and dead teeth, because she'd never seen a vet before either.
Shania is curious, cheeky, fun and gentle. There is a beautiful, kind and confident girl in there just waiting to come out and shine like stars. While her confidence is growing, she needs a little extra help to move things along. Shania has a heart murmur, it's graded at a 6, and at her age, there is nothing surgical that can be done so, she is on medications twice a day for the rest of her life. But it doesn't stop her, she is not symptomatic, she wouldn't even believe you if you told her she had a murmur!
We are looking for a forever foster home for Shania who can take her in, and give her all the love and care she's never had for whatever time she has left. We will cover the costs of her medications and vet visits for the rest of her years. We just need a family with at least one other dog, plenty of patience and lots of love to help her make the last of her years the best she's known! She needs a calm home, so no young children, and nothing that could place added stress on her heart, she is also still learning to trust humans, learning that pats are a good thing and that we are the keepers of the food so we cant be all that bad!

Medical notes
Shania has a grade 6 heart murmur, she MUST be given medications twice a day, every day. The costs of the medications and vet visits are covered by BRV and she must be seen regularly by our vet in Caulfield South.
