Just TRY not to fall in love with this handsome, smooshy face!
Apollo melts hearts wherever he goes, he a gorgeous, happy and balanced young man. Sadly he didn't start out this way and has quite a heartbreaking story behind him. Apollo arrived into foster care after being rescued from a school where he was dumped in horrendous condition. Apollo had demodex mites, a non-contagious but quite aggressive mite that was making him very saw and itchy.
Luckily we were able to get him the specialist care he needed and after 2 months of injections, he is looking great! He has also put on 5kg of body condition and his hair is growing back in a stunning chocolatey-tan colour. He sure does know he is handsome too!
Apollo adores everyone he meets, he is great with children and he loves the company of other dogs. He is very people focused and is a breeze to train. He would excel in any form of training and already has a bit of obedience and a few extra tricks under his belt.
Polley is 100% toilet trained, has good house manners and quickly learns where he is allowed and where he is not. Currently he enjoys sleeping on the end of his carers bed, he will snuggle all night long if you let him!
Apollo will need an adopter who will allow him to be inside as apart of the family. He just adores other dogs and will preferably go to a home with a companion, he would be fine with either sex, as long as they like to play!
Polley will need his adopter to provide frequent exercise - be a walk around the block, a run in the park, a swim in the creek or the beach. He loves to get out with his people and run around and be silly.
He walks well on his Halti and has great re-call when out and about.

As we rely on our foster carers (who are all volunteers and have families, jobs and pets of their own) to help with adoptions it may take a couple of days to organise for you to meet a dog once you have submitted your adoption application. We appreciate your understanding and patience with us while we work with you to ensure the perfect match for your family.
Safe Haven Animal Rescue Inc have a 10 day trial/settling period, if for any reason the pet needs to be returned, we will happily take them back into our care once a foster home is found and the adoption fee minus $50 (admin fee) will be returned via bank transfer within 5 working days. If the pet is returned after the trial period there will be no refund made.
**Please note that all paperwork including the Microchip Change of owner form will be handed over after the 10 day trial period.**
