Brutus and Nushka - On Trial 29/1/16

Meet Brutus and Nushka a gorgeous little inseparable senior couple available for adoption.

Nushka is a beautiful 10-12yr old female Silky x Maltese with eyes that will make you melt. With her fluffly face she looks like a little ewok or teddy and she has the cutest personality to match. Her quiet and loving nature makes her one special little girl. She has a shy puppy playfulness that belies her senior age and she will bring a smile to your face every day. This little cutie pie is certainly an inside dog (she loves her creature comforts), however she loves to go for short walks around the block to see what’s happening in the neighbourhood. Nushka sleeps in her own bed, but also loves to sleep on the end of your bed with a little bit of a boost up. Little Nushka’s legs are not made for jumping so she also needs help getting on and off the lounge or up high steps.

Nushka’s life-long companion is suave little Brutus a 7-9yr old Chihuahua. Together they are a striking pair whose personalities compliment each other. Brutus is one of the most cuddly little guys anyone could meet. As well as cuddling with his humans and Nushka, he’s also content to be in his own space so will happily curl up in his own bed alone for a nap. \ He loves to snuggle under his blanket and sleep soundly like a baby. He’s an easy going boy who likes to share his food with Nushka - sometimes he takes his little bickies to her when she is sitting in another room as a gift. Brutus loves to snuggle at night with Nushka in the same dog bed but will happily settle himself in your bed for a cuddle if invited up. He’s a real baby! One of his knees clicks out from time to time but it isn’t a major health issue and doesn’t stop him from walking around the block for an evening stroll with Nushka by his side.

Brutus and Nushka are both inside dogs who are happy to explore the yard for short periods but are happiest when inside. They would settle very well as houses with small yard, townhouses or an apartment - due to their short little legs they are best suited to single storey dwellings without too many stairs. They are both fully toilet trained and well past puppy stage so they won’t chew or misbehave when left unsupervised during the day. They really enjoy car trips and will contently watch the world go past. They welcome new visitors into your home with a friendly bark and wags of their tails – they are very easy going with people of all ages. When you go out they will sit at the window to wave to you when you come home - they are a very cute and loving ‘welcome home’ party! They need a little reassuring cuddle during a bad storm as big storms can make them a little nervous.

Brutus and Nushka both like food and aren’t fussy eaters – they love BBQ chicken and will come running for liver treats. Bathing them is very easy as they enjoy the pampering and Nushka is very easy to clip when required. Nushka has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep her comfortable and beautiful.

Brutus and Nushka would best suit a single person or couples who will spoil them rotten in their senior years. They would also do well in a family with older kids who understand that although cuddly and friendly, senior dogs enjoy chill out time and naps too. This inseparable pair are ‘perfection’ and they are looking for the perfect home where they can make you happy and bring you smiles every day.

Brutus and Nushka's combined adoption fee is $300 and includes their desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping and registration.
