About Mocha ~ Cavoodle (trial 9/11/15)
Hi, my name is Mocha and I am looking for a lovely home to spend the rest of my life. I am a 10 and a half year old caramel coloured Cavoodle (King Charles Cavalier x Poodle).
The last few years of my life have not been happy ones, and it is because of this that I need to make sure I go to an extra special loving home who will be gentle and patient with me as I overcome some of my fears.
I absolutely love going for a walk, and you would never guess I’m 10, as I’m full of energy, however I am well behaved and I don’t pull on the lead – I am a lady after all. After a walk I like to spend the rest of my day curled up on the lounge, or anther comfortable spot next to my owner, napping and relaxing. Another favourite thing to do is sit outside in the sun chewing on a bone - I absolutely love doing that!
My perfect home will need to very affectionate and willing to show lots of love and care towards me, so I can learn to trust humans again. They will also need to understand that I don’t like being picked up, and would much rather jump up onto your lap than be picked up and put there. My perfect home will have someone home a lot of the time, as being around humans is what I want most. My foster mum says that I have progressed a lot since coming into care, and she is confident that I will continue to come out of my shell.
I really am the perfect lady because not only am I toilet trained and know to go out through the doggy door, but I also sleep perfectly though the night without any disturbances. Once it’s bedtime I go straight to my crate next to my foster humans bed and settle down for the night, however if my new owners wanted to let me sleep on the bed with them I certainly wouldn’t complain!
I get along well with other dogs, as long as they’re not too jumpy and all over me – I need my personal space. However I would be happy to have another doggy friend to call my buddy in my new home. I’m also very interested in cats – I think they’re the most fascinating thing in the world, so for that reason my foster mum thinks its best if I go to a home without any feline members.
I will make a very loving addition to a family, and whoever decides to adopt me will be very lucky.
Love, Mocha x

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
