About Yankee
Yankee has had a little stint as a working dog, but it appears he didn't make it. He is adjusting to domestic life and now walks better on a lead, behaving indoors and not to chase the cat! Being under 12 months is age he has plenty of time to decide if being a working dog is really his thing or if he just might like agility or flyball who knows, the world is his oyster.
He has the sweetest, goofiest nature, adores people and simply wants to please. If your looking for a dog to train, and maybe try out your own techniques, Yankee could be your boy. Or maybe you could be thinking about Casterton Kelpie Muster in June 2016? You could just have a contender here with a bit of focussed training.
At his first foster house there were a couple of very savey experienced cats, they don't run and in fact tease him by rubbing up against his nose.
Probably best you don't have cats or small animals as they are a big distraction. There is no malice, but he just wants them to run, he will nudge, chase and heard and totally forget your talking to him.
He sleeps in a crate and will remain all night, he goes in an outside run without fuss. Most days he just hangs out with the other dogs. He likes to lay outside under the verandah by the door and rarely barks even when he is playing.
If you have the time and dedication to work with Yankee you will be rewarded with a great companion.
Before sending a message and asking a question please go to Farmdogz website and complete an adoption application. We can then call you and have a great chat about how Yankee might fit your home environment.
