Atticus

Hi! My name is Atticus, but my mates call me Attie. I’m a 18 month old black and white Border Collie.

I will always come when you call me name. You can depend on me, because if you’re my human – I’m your man! My foster mum refers to me as ‘unwaveringly loyal’ as I am always by your side. I don’t have a lot of demands, all I want is your company.

I sleep in my own bed in the bedroom. I love cradling your arm under my chin and wrapping my paws around you – I’m a huge fan of hugs. I don’t mind spending time with other sensible dogs and cats – but really, I just want to be yours. Another dog to cuddle up with at night, however, could also be appealing as I have just started to learn how to enjoy the company of other dogs and have had a couple of cheeky play bows with my foster siblings over the last couple of days. I grew up with two old Maltese Shitzhus, but they weren’t a lot of fun. I’m finally becoming comfortable being around other dogs who want to play with me.

I came into foster care when my owner went through a terrible family tragedy. Sadly, because of this, l didn’t really get a lot of obedience training before I came to live here.

My new family has been teaching me not to jump on people but I'm still learning but I will sit on command. I’ve quickly picked up loose leash walking, as I only want to be by your side anyway, just remind me at the beginning, then I’m all yours. I’ll get there! – my foster mum says I’m a very clever boy.

Having confident foster family and foster siblings has helped me feel a lot more comfortable out in the big wide world. I love a café lifestyle, I’ll happily lay at your feet while you’re chatting with your friends, just let me be invited too and I promise I’ll be good. I’ll even curl up in the backseat and not make a sound, while we’re travelling there. If we can get out for a good walk every day, then I probably won’t make much of a fuss about anything else.

I’m ready to ho to a family who will love me unconditionally forever and ever. I can’t wait to meet you.
