About Tilly ~ Maltese x Shih Tzu (on trial 20/10/15)
Introducing Tiny Tilly. Tilly is a 2 year old, female, Maltese x Shih Tzu and one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. Since she has been living in my home, she has shown herself to be a friendly, affectionate, clever little dog who loves everyone she meets: men, women and children. Tilly is a clean dog and has not toileted inside the house, also being a low/non shedder there is little or no dog hair to clean up.
Tilly can be wary and intimidated by unfamiliar dogs, particularly those larger than herself, however, she is currently living with a large and a small dog without problems. I don't know how she gets along with cats and other pets because I don’t have any.
I have only good things to say about Tilly, she loves human company and just wants to be with you. She is not a nuisance barker; in fact I have hardly heard her bark since she arrived. Tilly is not at all destructive in the house when left at home and does not seem to suffer from separation anxiety. During the evenings, she enjoys cuddles on the lounge and during the night she sleeps peacefully on the end of my bed, and only stirs when I wake in the morning. She is an inside dog.
The majority of Tilly’s coat is white with grey patches on her ears and a grey undercoat. Tilly has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep her comfortable and beautiful.
Tilly’s perfect home would be one where she would receive sufficient exercise and stimulation and be included as part of the family. A family with older, considerate children would be ideal; she would also appreciate a doggy play mate. Being a small dog, Tilly does not need a lot of exercise, but does need a daily walk and play time in a safe, fenced yard. A home where she would not be left alone for extended periods of time would be ideal for this little sweetie.
Tilly’s adoption fee of $500 includes her desexing, vaccination, worm and flea treatment microchipping, and lifetime registration. If you think you are able to offer this gorgeous girl a forever home, please contact Rebecca at rosella52@bigpond.com. Tilly is in foster care in Kotara, NSW (Newcastle).

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
